Amman, March 2012 - In line with its goal to positively impact the future of Jordan’s youth and as part of its unwavering belonging to innovation, Umniah renewed its partnership with the Trip to Innovation (TTI) initiative, for the second consecutive year, under which it sponsored the first and largest inspirational event in southern Jordan, entitled Trip to Innovation 5 (TTI5). The event took place on Saturday 10th March, 2012, at Al Hussein bin Talal University in Ma’an.
TTI5 brought together over 150 aspiring entrepreneurs from across the Kingdom, particularly from governorates in the south with a number of seasoned specialists and key-note speakers to discuss entrepreneurship and the establishment of entrepreneurial projects with limited financial support.
Umniah is renewing its partnership for the second consecutive year to promote and encourage youth across a number of platforms related to innovation, entrepreneurship and the establishment of successful businesses with limited resources. This year Umniah will support and sponsor all TTI activities and events in 2012 targeting university students and entrepreneurs in governorates across the Kingdom.
“We at Umniah firmly believe that promoting the concept of innovative thinking will help Jordanian youth come up with creative and successful business ideas that create job opportunities,” commented Umniah CEO Ihab Hinnawi. “We are proud to partner with the Trip to Innovation program and of all its activities that offer encouragement and extend financial support to Jordanian youth so as to help promote Jordan as a dynamic business hub in the region,” he added.
In turn, Trip to Innovation Founder Belal Raslan stated, “Umniah has been a great supporter and partner of TTI events in 2011 and we share a common vision regarding the crucial role of youth in shaping the future of Jordan. Together, we hope to expand on our combined successes and efforts to support youth across Kingdom. Last year, TTI successfully managed to reach out to 500 young Jordanian entrepreneurs. This year, we are committed to reaching out to an even bigger audience across the entire Kingdom.”
TTI, a local non-profit program organized by Tech Jordan & Quality Partners, is aimed at creating a platform in support of building an innovative culture amongst Jordanian youth, apprentices and entrepreneurs. It provides its participants with the needed tools, knowledge, experience, communication skills and guidance, through engaging in a series of events and activities aimed at introducing them to innovative ideas and trends in the international business sector.
