Amman, January 2014 – Nokia announced that it has launched its latest portfolio of large screen Lumia smartphones in the Jordanian market. These include the Lumia 1520 and 1320, in addition to three new Nokia Asha models, the Nokia Asha 500, 502 and 503, which deliver industry leading design, new vibrant colors and a more intuitive user interface, all at an accessible price.
The Nokia Lumia 1520 comprises a 1080p Full HD screen with an enhanced start screen featuring an additional third column of live tiles, allowing users to get to their favourite apps faster and with less scrolling. Thanks to the 20MP PureView camera with optical image stabilization, oversampling technology and zooming capabilities, the Nokia Lumia 1520 brings personal stories to life with the new Nokia Storyteller and Nokia Camera. The bigger screen also makes it easy to use Microsoft Office while on the go. To ensure an outstanding video experience, the Nokia Lumia 1520 camera captures full HD video with crystal-clear audio. The device also boasts Nokia Rich Recording with four microphones, providing directional stereo recording capability to capture distortion-free audio from the preferred direction for accurate and clear sound.
The Nokia Lumia 1320 brings many of the high-end Lumia innovations to a 6-inch screen smartphone at a lower price point. The latest imaging features, such as Nokia Camera and Nokia Storyteller, as well as popular Lumia experiences like the global mapping and location services from HERE, all come together to offer users a compelling choice in the large screen smartphones.
The Nokia Asha 500, 502 and 503 push the boundaries of affordable smartphone innovation. Built with the Nokia hallmarks of manufacturing quality and outstanding battery life, the new phones offer compelling new experiences, a range of smartphone capabilities and affordable price points to suit various needs. Their layered design, achieved using the ‘dual shot’ technique which is unique to Nokia, combines an inner layer of bold, bright colour surrounded by an outer layer of crystal-clear transparency. The combination adds a distinctive look to the phones’ monobody design, as well as durability. The high-end design brought to this price point is a clear differentiator, as are the craftsmanship and attention to detail.
Fastlane is the unique second screen that acts as a shortcut to the phones’ recently accessed apps, features and content, as well as future activity such as calendar appointments. It is the fastest way to access an app in its last state, in addition to being the social hub of the new Nokia Asha 500, 502 and 503. Deeper integration with social networks now enables live updates through notifications on Fastlane.
While all three new phones come with the same software and stunning hardware design, they offer hardware specifications that scale upwards by model number and price. The Asha 500 offers a 2.8-inch screen, a 2-megapixel camera and 2G telephony. The Asha 502 comes with a 3-inch screen, a 5-megapixel with flash and 2G. At the top of the current family is the Asha 503 which features a 3-inch screen made from curved Gorilla Glass, 5-megapixel camera with flash and 3.5G speeds. The Asha 500 and 503 come in single and dual-SIM variants, with Nokia’s Easy Swap technology on dual-SIM, allowing users to swap cards without restarting the phone.
