Doha (May 9, 2016) – Advanced Conferences & Meetings (ACM) proudly launched the 3rd annual LightingTech Qatar conference at City Centre Rotana, Doha, Qatar. This conference brought together government authorities, industry regulators, lighting designers and consultants and technology providers to discuss the exciting lighting projects, the associated opportunities and the update on the government regulations and industry standards.
The conference started with the opening remarks of Melina Davies followed by a presentation by Fabian John Marsh from Public Works Authority “Ashghal” on setting road safety targets in Qatar through iRAP. David Dunn discussed the lighting safety design procedures followed by a case study on high luminance tunnel thresholds by Vic Andrews. Another interesting presentation was shared by Arikson Espinal on LED applications for road lighting in middle eastern countries. Nizar Nasr Eddine and Jos Van Den Hurk presented a case study on High-tech lighting solutions for Al Bayt Stadium. Regina Santos shared the last presentation of the day on the lighting standards and certification and the lessons learned from the UAE.
The first day of LightingTech Qatar conference created the perfect platform for the attendees to build relations, exchange ideas and seize business opportunities throughout the ACMi+ interface that allowed for many networking breaks which created a dynamic, efficient and relevant learning environment.

Day two (May 10) of the conference will feature many more interesting presentations, to name a few: A case study on Msheireb Downtown Doha Phases 2 and 3, a presentation on neuroscience and lighting, a presentation on examining façade lighting design of iconic buildings in Qatar and many more presentations.
