Microsoft has hosted its cloud empowerment summit in Amman. The event was part of the broader Microsoft Cloud Society initiative, aimed at equipping IT workers at all levels with Azure based cloud ready skills. This free online training platform was created by Microsoft in the Middle East Africa region and has attracted over 40,000 participants to date, almost 8,000 of which are from the North Africa and Levant area.
“IDC predicts that one in three IT positions will be cloud related by 2020,” said Hussein Malhas, Country Manager of Microsoft Jordan. “It’s critical for us to build the cloud skills base now to ensure Jordan’s competitiveness in the future. By working with our valued partners in the market, we are accelerating access to knowledge, training and certification on Microsoft Azure. On this occasion, we would like to thank our valued partners, STS and Data Hub, who helped make this event possible.”
Microsoft Cloud Society enables learning at your own pace. By selecting a learning program at https://cloudsociety.microsoft.com/, you can choose from a variety of cloud topics including cloud administration, big data, security, deployment and data science. Each topic provides online courses that you can enroll for individually. As your knowledge grows, you can also complete exams both through Microsoft and our training partners, to receive official Azure certifications recognized in the industry.
Another advantage of being part of Cloud Society is the ability to engage with other IT professionals, both online and at hosted events, like today’s Cloud Enablement Summit. These events bring together Microsoft partners and customers to learn, network and build a connected cloud community. It’s the perfect time to take the next step and trial Microsoft Azure now: https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/free/. Receive access to $200 credit for Azure products to use within thirty days, or try out a number of products on a free trial for up to twelve months.
“Cloud computing has the greatest potential to fuel economic growth, spur innovation and improve productivity levels,” added Malhas. “It’s a game-changer for businesses that want to scale, but lack funding, like many small businesses in our market.”
We’re calling on all IT professionals, and those looking to enter the cloud field, to register for Microsoft Cloud Society today https://cloudsociety.microsoft.com/ and join the cloud revolution.
