London - 30 September 2011 - The integration of IT and facilities management of the data centre forms the focus for a one-day forum presented by a range of international experts designed to support enterprise users in identifying key convergence processes and technologies in the emerging Cloud context. Registration to attend is complementary (www.datacentreconvergence.com)
The advent of Cloud imposes new business changes for data centres and the way in which IT facilities, people and real-estate are managed. Although the meaning of cloud computing is recognised differently, but holds the common objective of reduced infrastructure costs. Enterprise Cloud adoption will depend on the different requirements timescales for shifting to cloud based solutions, against specific commercial and regulatory requirements for the control of cloud components and data.
"One size will not fit all," commented Aidan Paul, managing director of Vtesse who will be speaking at the Data Centre Convergence conference. "The Flexible Cloud, where customer's business objectives can be provided in a tailored package is the right way forward. To rapidly configure these service levels and achieve this flexibility however depends on the convergence of IT and facilities in the data centre. This will mean customers are able to avoid the cost of unnecessary infrastructure."
Speakers at the event will argue that convergence is the most important issue confronting the data centre industry today.
"Convergence is a relatively new topic for the data centre industry," commented Warwick Dunkley, vice president of BroadGroup, "and presents a range of new challenges for managers. This one day forum will provide an intensive understanding by explaining what these challenges are and how they might be overcome."
Attendees will also take away a valuable checklist providing a holistic approach to implementation that will achieve Convergence in the Data Centre and the event is supported by an industry exhibition.
