Dubai, United Arab Emirates November 21, 2011: eNett International today announced that its popular vNett virtual card solution can now process payments in United Arab Emirates Dirhams.
eNett International - a Travelport joint venture and a leading provider of innovative and integrated payment solutions tailored to meet the needs of the travel industry - recently unveiled vNett virtual cards as a secure, efficient and widely-accepted means for IATA and non-IATA travel agencies to pay travel suppliers.
The vNett virtual card works by issuing a 16-digit MasterCard virtual account number for a specific transaction or set of transactions, eliminating the possibility of fraud. The solution also reduces risks arising from service default, streamlines the accounts payable function and delivers comprehensive reporting in real-time.
eNett International managing director & CEO Anthony Hynes said one of the unique features of the vNett platform was that virtual account numbers could be processed in all major currencies, removing the need to pay foreign transaction fees.
“The addition of the UAE dirham to the growing number of currencies available in the virtual card platform is an important development for the travel industry in the Middle East region," said Hynes. "It follows the successful launch of the vNett solution in Europe, Australia and the Americas and demonstrates our commitment to ensuring that the solution facilitates payments in the world's leading currencies."
Rabih Saab, president and managing director, Middle East and Africa, Travelport said, “Developed with the requirements of the travel trade in mind, I’m confident that the vNett virtual card solution will be welcomed by the UAE travel agency community, which is seeking a simple and reliable payment platform for hotel bookings made through the GDS. With the introduction of dirham-issued virtual credit cards, vNett is set to become increasingly relevant in the UAE and other countries in the Middle East with traditionally lower credit card penetration.”
vNett can easily be accessed via a web portal at www.enett.com or web service (XML) and seamlessly integrates with global distribution systems (GDS), websites and other booking tools. -Ends-
