Amman, June 2014 - In an unprecedented step in the North Africa, East Mediterranean and Pakistan (NEPA) region, Microsoft Jordan launched a Windows 8.1 corner at SmartBuy in Cozmo. Activated on Thursday 19 June, 2014, the corner will run for two weeks and will feature an extensive range of the latest tablets and detachable devices that operate Windows 8.1. This step is closely aligned with Microsoft Jordan’s goal to continuously provide customers with a premium purchasing experience.
Windows 8.1 is a free, user-friendly Windows 8 upgrade. Ideal for optimal multi-tasking and productivity, Windows 8.1 is highly personalized and offers easy navigation, enhanced search options, a wide range of apps and services that are accessible from the Start Screen, and a beautifully redesigned Store. It also hosts deep cloud integration with OneDrive, allowing users to access data at any time regardless of their location. OneDrive is a cloud hosting application that enables users to download, organize, store and access files through the Internet or via their personal devices.
Additionally, Microsoft Jordan is offering students and teachers the chance to receive free Office 365 and Office 2013 software if their school or university is enlisted at the corner. This gesture falls in line with Microsoft Jordan’s commitment towards Jordan as a whole, particularly with regards to improving education standards, promoting creativity and remaining abreast of the latest technologies.
“This step corresponds with Microsoft’s services and devices strategy, and is in line with its new approach which entails targeting retail stores, a direction it has chosen to adopt in recent years. This is a brand new concept in Jordan and we are confident that it will prove to be highly effective. I would like to thank SmartBuy for their commendable cooperation in ensuring the remarkable success of this launch.” stated Microsoft Jordan Country Manager Hussein Malhas.
